Inga Kačevska is an Attorney at Law specializing in international private law, especially international trade, international litigation and corporate and commercial law.
Dr. Kačevska is often appointed as an arbitrator dealing with international and national cases as well as she serves as witness expert on Latvian law in foreign litigations. She gained experience while working at the Arbitration Court of Chamber of Commerce, thus Dr Kačevska has wide knowledge of the arbitration process and alternative dispute resolution. She was a member of the drafting group for the new Latvian Arbitration Act.
In 2014 the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia has appointed here in the ICSID list of arbitrators.
Inga Kačevska was elected in the Special Committee under the 1961 European Convention on International Commercial Arbitration (2005) and in European Network of Mediators (2008). She is member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Her practice covers state aid and investments as she has been working on the largest international investment project in the Baltic States to build a pulp mill.
Ms. Kačevska's professional background allows her to deal with different international and multicultural clients helping them to establish and sustain business entities and protect their interests in Latvia.
She has been the Director of the Latvian Judicial Training Center (1995-2000) and for the outstanding work done in this institution the Latvian Judges Association granted her an Award for strengthening the Latvian judicial system (1999). In cooperation with the UNDP and American Bar Association/CEELI her trainings were held in Tajikistan, Armenia, Kyrgysztan, Kazakstan, Moldova, etc.
Currently, she is an associate professor at the University of Latvia and as the supervisor training the team of the University of Latvia for the Willem C. Vis. International Commercial Arbitration moot for the past 15 years as well as she is an author of various publications.
Moreover, Embassy of Georgia in Latvia initiated Inga’s photo exhibition “Discover Georgia” displayed in Riga and other Latvian big cities in 2011-2012.
